Human race has been facing tough circumstances past this year, due to pandemic. World had a traumatic experience within, common public and job goers started to settle within indoors. In these period humans made question about their own lifestyles, how & where they live, what they do, and what is the correct way to lead lives? Honestly, there’s going to be various opinions on such pop-ups. In the past century world has come a long way. Since last decade, there has been no limit to the destruction and wastage of materials. Now, things are leading to crisis and scarcity. This is the time to make a change, and move towards sustainable use.
What do we do under Sustainability?
Probably, this is the first question that might hit your brains. Change is something that begins within, in our house. Let’s bring the changes in the spaces where we live. Replacing the materials which could be able to reuse, recycle and reduce the wastage. The trend is sustainability, eco-friendly and Innovation. There is a lot of scope in the modern world to replenish the old goods and reuse into the new space, making required modifications. Natural materials such as, recycled steel, sheep wool, straw bales, bamboo, cane and recycled plastic are existing in the market, someway, public is also showing interest to know more about such materials. Humans with the zeal of sustainable development are performing various researches to invent new and feasible materials from reusable particles to receive a fruitful outcome.
Sustainable interior design aim is to balance functionality and aesthetics, besides to follow the trend, and satisfy the client. From the sustainable vision, it is not an easy job to procure the materials in the market to meet the sustainable ends. There are vital materials in sustainability like wood, wool, cork and natural stones which are available in common areas, but as we are digging deep to make the things more innovative and interesting. As a designer, sometimes it’s very tricky to choose from limited sustainable materials. Repetition, randomisation and overlapping of materials in the space are a beautiful journey in the designing process. The Final output of the spaces are defined by the sensible choices that we make for the inputs – Proper proportions of materials, colour balances, number of textures, heaviness of furniture and sparks of the lighting helps to craft a perfect interior.
